Schools
The Allegan Public Schools offer a broad educational program for all individuals residing within the district. The four elementary and middle school programs offer a comprehensive K-8 curriculum including computer labs in all five buildings. Secondary students in grades 9-12 have access to a comprehensive curriculum and state-of-the-art technology in a recently renovated and enlarged high school building. A full range of extra-curricular activities is available for all district students. Students can participate in team and individual sports, foreign language clubs and fine arts activities. The recent addition of a state-of-the-art performing arts center and aquatic center have expanded opportunities for our students even further
Under the Michigan state accreditation system know as Education YES!, schools are given “grades” based on Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). AYP is determined by a formula of gradually rising increments in MEAP scores along with attendance and graduation rates.

Hospitals
Allegan General Hospital is located within Allegan city limits and is available 24 hours a day for medical and emergency services. Recently, AGH underwent major renovation and building expansion to improve or develop the facility and medical technology. www.aghosp.org.
