City of Allegan Dam Feasibility and Conceptual Design Report

As the Federal and State Government continue to study how to manage the Kalamazoo River Superfund Site in the City of Allegan, the City is now at a place in time  to discuss the city-owned dam and power house located at the edge of the Downtown and decide their futures.

To that end, several State departments came together to fund and create an Allegan Dam Feasibility and Conceptual Design Report.  This report was presented to the Allegan City Council at their June 24, 2019 meeting.   Over the course of the next several months, the City Council and Allegan community will continue to discuss this report and plan out the next chapter of the Kalamazoo River as it meanders through the City of Allegan.

The first public meeting regarding the future of the Allegan-owned dam will take place on Thursday, July 25 at the Carnegie Room at the Allegan District Library at 7pm.

Below are the documents that were presented to the City Council at their June 24, 2019 Meeting.
