High School Students Get Dramatic...

dramaThe Alternative High School is presenting a play written and performed by the students!  Purple Like Me, will take the stage on Friday,  February 20, at 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center of Allegan High School. The production is free.  It chronicles past and present prejudice through fictional, historical, and autobiographical scenes and monologues.

The Allegan High School Drama department will present Frankenstein Thursday, March 26; Friday, March 27; and Saturday, March 28. All performances will be at 7:00 p.m. in the Allegan Performing Arts Center.  Adults tickets will be $6.00, while tickets for students and sr. citizens will be $5.00.  This is the classic tale of horror and suspense detailing the ill-fated experiments of Dr. Frankenstein as he attempts to fathom the secrets of life and death. The adaptation adheres more closely to the novel than did the famous motion picture versions.  This production is not suitable for elementary-aged or younger children.
Imagination Library

Please be one of the first to add this event to your Spring calendar.  Your attendance will ensure that more pre-schoolers will receive books designed to help improve literacy in Allegan County.  For more information call 269.673.6545 ext. 10

Looking Good!

Creative EventsEach month during 2009, one downtown store front will be selected as "Storefront of the Month."  We are looking for creativity, attention to detail, and overall effect.  The winning store will receive one month free advertising on the Regent screen and a mention in the Connector.

This month, Creative Events's window invites you to be their Valentine!  Creative Events, located at 128 Locust Street, carries supplies for cake decorating, candy making, parties, weddings, and more.  You can get a decorated cake, helium filled balloons, tableware, and gifts.  In addition, they offer cake decorating and fondant classes throughout the year.

Their goals are to save you time and money and to help you make your next event creative. Just look for the 4-foot cake out on the sidewalk!
