2. Allegan Farmers Market - Homegrown freshness brought directly to you. Every Thursday browse through a variety of fruits, vegetables, perennials, flowers, baked goods and more at the Farmers Market. The market is open from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm and is located at the Water and Cutler Street parking lot. The products change weekly, so mark your calendars.
3. Old Jail Museum - Did you know in the Sheriff's wife used to cook meals for all of the inmates in the Allegan County Jail? Be intrigued with other interesting facts and anecdotes at the historic Old Jail Museum in Downtown Allegan. The museum is full of artifacts, photos and belongings of past Allegan residents. This is a great place to visit and learn more about Allegan and the jail system. Admission is free and the jail is located on Walnut Street directly across the street from the Allegan County Jail and Sheriff complex. Call for more information.
4. It's a Mystery to All: Summer Reading Program - Allegan Public Library is hosting summer reading programs for students age 1 to grade 12. In addition, "Summer Sleuthing for Adults" is being offered for adults interested in genealogy. The programs start June 4 and run through the end of July. 5. West Michigan Fly In - The sky will be filled with planes on June 23 as they make their way to the 7th Annual West Michigan Fly In at the Allegan Airport and Dodgen Aircraft. The event starts at 7:00 am with a pancake breakfast and activities continue until 5:00 pm. 6. July 3 Jubilee - Celebrate your independence with a bang along the Downtown Riverfront. Partake in some activities and games from the good o' days, interact with famous American heroes, be in awe at the talents of our street performers and catch a tune at the Gazebo. This year includes a parade that all are invited to participate in. Dress up yourself like an American hero or colonial figure or decorate your bike or pet in red, white and blue. 7. Good Times at the Gazebo - For the past 19 summers, musicians of all genres have performed at the Mahan Gazebo as part of Downtown Allegan's concert series, Good Times at the Gazebo. With some of the favorite performers returning again this year, The Williams Family, and some new talent, The Johnny Cash Tribute Show, the lineup this year is simply compelling. If you enjoy bluegrass, country, folk or a little bit of everything, come to the Mahan Gazebo at 7:00 pm on Saturday nights July 4 - August 18 for some "good times." 8. A Garden Walk - Enjoy the lovely gardens and landscaping at some of the area's finest homes as part of this summer's garden tour. A Garden Walk is presented by Friends of Allegan Parks and is July 21 and 22 from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm rain or shine. Proceeds used for beautification and improvement to Allegan Parks and advance tickets can be purchased at Something Sweet, 109 Locust Street. 9. Sidewalk Days - Shop for sales and bargains during sidewalk sales in Downtown Allegan July 26 and 27. The sidewalks will be lined with merchandise and other products for you to purchase. 10. Summer Camps - This summer, The Griswold Auditorium is hosting 2 great summer camp opportunities. Join Instructor, Dana Levine of the Miller Auditorium, August 6 -10 for Break a Leg Theatre Camp. Calling all children and future artists! Join, instructor, Lori Gavan, as students "travel the world" in search of art treasures. Summer Art Camp is August 13- 17 from 9:00 - 11:30 am at The Griswold Auditorium. The camp is open to children age 6-11, who have a passion for art.
